In 1995, Skyarc Media Group
and China Central Television (CCTV) jointly launched a sports program
called The World Sports Report. It was a prime time sports report broadcasted
on CCTV-2 every Monday evening. The program sent journalists overseas
to cover the world’s breaking sporting events, sending the video
back to China by satellite directly prior to broadcast time.
It was the first time for
Chinese television to take this technology and use it for such a report.
Skyarc Media Group co-produced The World Sports Report with CCTV from
1995 to 1997, and operated the advertising independently.
It was a huge success for
Skyarc Media Group; the program itself received high audience ratings
across China.
