Deqing in Zhejiang province is home to the famous Chinese poet Meng Jiao in the ancient Tang dynasty. He wrote one of the most well known poems called “A Traveler’s Song”, which described a fond-hearted mother’s love and worry about her son who would travel away for a long time. From that time, Deqing has developed a kind of Chinese culture with respect to travelers.
In this episode of Meet China, Mr. Yang Jianxin, Chief Executive of Deqing, and Mrs. Zhang Kangkang, a well known Chinese writer will meet Ms. Tan Jiayu, Special Assistant to the Mayor of Houston and Mr. Chen Ke, Vice President of the Houston Chinese Civic Center.
