Jiyuan is a city located in Henan Province, which is well known as the center of China not only for geographical reason, but also because it is the cradle of Chinese civilization.

There is a very famous Chinese historical story that originated in Jiyuan. Many years ago, an old, foolish man lived in the high mountains in this area. As it was so inconvenient to leave the mountainous region, he decided he would move them. People laughed at him and said he would never move the mountains. But this old man replied, saying that even once he died his son and grandson would keep on digging the mountains and sooner or later they could move it.
